Derek Landers, The Hobbyist

Derek has been working as a graphic designer in Spokane for over a decade making logos, posters, websites, branding, you name it.  In fact, he took his first design class as a way to learn how to make better art for his own screenprinting business. Derek has designed gig posters for bands like Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Soundgarden, and he’s bringing that wealth of experience to bear as Millwood’s Screenprinter-in-Chief! As a guy who uses computers for most of his work, the physicality in the process of screenprinting is what draws Derek to create.

“With this art form, the art doesn’t stop when you go to print it. You’re still being an artist…your hands are on it the entire time.”
